Halloween makeup look for less

Posted

Halloween is right around the corner and many of us will spend hundreds of dollars on a costume that might only be used once. The latest Halloween costume trend is inexpensive and uses items that are found in many households.

Dee Pales, a professional makeup artist, says the best way to get a spooky Halloween look is with a few eyeshadows and eyeliner.

The first step is to apply a light color foundation all over your face, then set it with powder.

Next is to take a black eyeshadow and eyeliner and fill in the lid and under eye. Pales says, to create depth and dimension, use a brown eyeshadow to smudge around the edges.

After the eyes, you’ll move onto the cheeks and jawline. You will need a dark purple or black eyeshadow for shading. Swiping the shadow below your cheekbone and along the jawline will help to create a gaunt and lifeless look.

Pales says, the nose is where you can get real creative. All you have to do is color in the nose with black eyeliner and down the center of your nose fill it in with white liner.

To finish the look, take a black and white liner and draw vertical lines over the entire mouth. Then draw one long line horizontally across the mouth. This technique will make it look like your mouth was sewn shut. You can even shade the inside of your lips red with a lip liner to make it look bloody.

For added drama, throw on a pair of crazy false lashes and you are now a spooky, skeleton zombie.
