At least two police departments in Southeast Wisconsin are urging parents to take a closer look at their children’s Halloween candy.

The Randolph Police Department took a report of a child receiving candy that was tampered with during trick or treating between 3 and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say a child received a Now and Later hard candy that was believed to have been soaked in motor oil or some other foreign substance.

Investigators are not sure where in the village the child received the candy.

If you do find candy that is believed to have been tampered with, police say it’s important not to throw it away so it can be inspected.

The Oconomowoc, Wisconsin Police Department also received a report of tampered candy.

A woman was reportedly spotted handing out Tootsie Rolls on Oakwood Avenue at around 7:10 p.m. Saturday.

A parent reported on Facebook that one of the Tootsie Rolls had a small pill inside, but police say they haven’t been able to find evidence of tampering.

They are asking anyone who witnessed the woman handing out candy to contact the police department.

The woman was described as between 50-60 years old with dark curly hair, white face paint with a dark line for a mouth resembling a clown and red cheeks. Witnesses told police she was wearing all black, including a mid-length black coat with dark gloves.
