Sweetgreen set to open Downtown Detroit location on December 9

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Sweetgreen will open its new location in Downtown Detroit on Tuesday, Dec. 9, officials announced this week.

The location is in the One Campus Martius building at 1020 Woodward Ave., next to Adelina.

Sweetgreen offers meals with fresh, high-quality ingredients with a variety of salads, bowls, plates and more. There are already Sweetgreen locations in Birmingham, Troy, Rochester Hills and Ann Arbor.

Sweetgreen, the mission-driven restaurant brand with more than 250 locations across the U.S., is opening a new storefront in downtown Detroit. The new location at 1020 Woodward Ave. will serve meals made from fresh, high-quality ingredients and produce that prioritizes organic, regenerative and local sourcing.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing our brand to the city of Detroit and officially become part of this dynamic, forward-moving community,” co-founder and CEO Jonathan Neman said in a statement

“We take pride in attracting local and nationally renowned brands like Sweetgreen to Detroit’s Central Business District,” Bedrock’s Senior Vice President of Leasing Naumann Idrees added. “Sweetgreen is a welcome addition to our growing downtown portfolio, adding another healthy option—with its own distinct approach—for Detroiters to enjoy.”

Sweetgreen's grand opening in the city will include sweet treats from Detroit's Bon Bon Bon, a live screen printing activation and beverages from Earthy Botanical Mobile Bar.

The restaurant will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.. Guests can also reserve times for a soft opening tasting event on Dec. 5 and 6 through Eventbrite.
